HONORING NIKA SHAKARAMI
On September 20, 2022, during the "Woman, Life, Freedom" protests after the tragic murder of Mahsa/Jina Amini by the so-called "morality police" in Iran, Nika Shakarami, a 16-year-old girl, was abducted, tortured, sexually assaulted, and ultimately killed by the regime's security forces. The Nika Circle Foundation is named in honor of Nika Shakarami — a symbol of courage, resistance, and the unyielding spirit of Iranian women. Inspired by her legacy and the "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement, we stand in solidarity with all who fight for justice, equality, and human rights in Iran.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to provide medical aid and assistance to the heroic Iranian women and men who have suffered devastating injuries at the behest of the regime’s suppressive forces during demonstrations. In doing so, our goal is to empower and amplify their voices – and the voices of those who continue to struggle for freedom in Iran.
We are a nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to helping those injured during demonstrations in Iran and amplifying the voices of all who continue the Woman, Life, Freedom movement in pursuit of human rights and democracy.
