FOR THOSE WHO DARED TO DREAM OF FREEDOM

Welcome to Nika Circle Foundation

Nika Circle Foundation is a nonprofit, non-religious organization dedicated to supporting peaceful protesters injured during the Mahsa Jina Amini uprising in Iran. Our mission is to stand beside these brave souls as they rebuild their lives — offering compassion, care, and practical assistance wherever they have found refuge and safety around the world.

We are a nonpartisan, humanitarian foundation providing medical care, and other essential services to the victims of the Iranian regime's brutality. Working hand in hand with other nonprofits and aid organizations, we strive to ensure that every person we help can begin again with dignity, stability, and hope.

Our efforts began in 2023 under the Iranian-Persian American Association of Greater Long Beach (IPAA). In July 2025, we established the Nika Circle Foundation to continue and expand this mission with a dedicated structure and long-term vision — one grounded in humanity and the shared belief that freedom is a universal right.

OUR COMMITMENT

There are countless needs among those who have sacrificed everything for freedom. While we can only meet a small portion of those needs, every act of kindness — every donation, every word of solidarity — helps us reach one more person seeking safety, healing, and a future filled with promise.

Your support allows us to bring medical care, education, and a renewed sense of hope to those who have endured so much. Most importantly, it lets them know they are not forgotten. Together, we honor their courage, their resilience, and their enduring cry for “Women, Life, Freedom.”

Nika Circle Foundation BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Mersedeh Shahinkar

Mersedeh Shahinkar is a renowned human rights activist whose courageous advocacy spans Europe and the United States. A survivor of intentional blinding during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests in Iran, she has become a powerful international voice for justice, dignity, and women’s rights. In recognition of her commitment and extraordinary resilience, Mersedeh was awarded the 2023 Sakharov Prize as part of the Woman, Life, Freedom movement, alongside Afsoon Najafi.

Mersedeh’s life was irrevocably changed when she lost her right eye after being shot by an Islamic Republic security agent during the protests. Rather than silencing her, the attack only amplified her resolve. The Iranian government later labeled her a “threat to the country’s security,” increasing the pressure and danger she faced at home.

By March 2023, amid escalating threats and deepening concerns for her safety, Mersedeh made the difficult decision to leave Iran. She sought refuge in Germany, where she continued to speak out against state violence and advocate tirelessly for Iranian women’s rights on the global stage.

As a board member of Nika Circle Foundation, Mersedeh continues her mission in the United States, where she remains a steadfast champion for freedom, equality, and human rights. Her story—marked by bravery, sacrifice, and an unyielding commitment to justice—inspires countless others and serves as a testament to the enduring power of resistance.

Sheepa Seekaroudy

Sheepa Seekaroudy is a compassionate humanitarian and human rights advocate serving as a board member of the Nika Circle Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to helping those injured during the Mahsa (Jina) Amini uprising in Iran.

In her role, Sheepa contributes to the Foundation’s mission to deliver medical care, education support, legal aid, relocation assistance, and other essential services to individuals impacted by the Iranian regime’s violent response to peaceful protests. Her leadership emphasizes empathy, dignity, and empowerment for survivors.

Before joining Nika Circle Foundation, Sheepa worked on numerous community-based initiatives amplifying Iranian voices and raising awareness about human rights abuses. She is committed to building bridges between the Iranian diaspora and international allies who support freedom and equality.

Through her ongoing work, Sheepa strives to ensure that the courage of those who stood up for “Women, Life, Freedom” is honored — and that their sacrifices lead to meaningful, lasting change.
